Stop At: Mount Etna, 95030 Catania, Sicily Italy

Once on board of our 4 × 4 jeeps, we will make our way towards Etna's hill. We will leave the wonderful "Lemon Riviera" (Lemons' coast), to approach Etna’s villages. We will get on the road that leads through the volcano's slopes, crossing old mule drivers (ancient mule drivers' roads) and coalmen paths, we are soon at about 1000m altitude where a protected area of 720km² begins. That is like black highways, like the mountainside.

Surrounded by uncontaminated greenery, we can enjoy breathtaking views walking between chestnut trees, pines, oaks, beeches as well as endemic plants like Etna’s birch and Etna’s brooms. We will get to the edge of the crater, to the exact point where incandescent lava used to come out from volcano slope.

Let's deeply penetrate the heart of the wood to discover what's hiding below the volcanic hard surface. Suddenly a crevice in the ground appears by our eyes: one of the about 190 Etna lava flow caves. We start our underground adventure: leaving the surface, we enter the mountain deepness to discover our most hidden secrets, visiting lava flow cave1.

After the trek, we will head towards one of the most famous winery of the area, to learn about and taste volcanic wines. Tasting provides for well matched combinations of local foods and wines, to enhance at most this land's nectar. Among a wide variety of cheeses, sausages and typical dishes, our sommeliers will make you the best of the wines produced by the grapes that grow on the volcanic soil. Of course, the whole tour and tasting will be enriched by our guide that will give you information on Etna's viticulture and winemaking.

After a lengthy exploration of Mt. Etna and after having satisfied our senses, we will have reached the end of our adventure together. See you on the next adventure!
