Full Day Sailing Tour Catania-Acitrezza

A full day excursion discovering the “Riviera dei Ciclopi”. During this relaxing day you will admire the Ulysses’ Caves, the Medieval Castle in Acicastello and the naturalistic area of Acitrezza and mythologic Cyclops’ Islands. While navigating, you will learn the basics of sailing and some curiosities and legends about our land. During the day you will have the possibility to do snorkeling and we will offer you also lunch.

Welcome on board!

Once you meet the skipper you will get on board on a boat with three double cabins (one will be available during the excursion), a bathroom with shower and external shower, a kitchen and a refrigerator.

Swim and snorkle at Ulysses’ Caves (if permitted)

At Ulysses’ Caves you can have the first swim of the day and practice some self-guided snorkeling with our equipment (mask and flippers). These caves were formed in a beautiful lava cliff overlooking the sea. The colors of the backdrops are gorgeous, from dark blue, to green, to light blue.

Marvel at the Medieval Castle

While sailing towards Acitrezza, you will pass under the medieval castle of Acicastello. Spectacular the view of the castle by the sea. You can observe the characteristic “pillow lavas” found under the castle and due to the rapid cooling of submarine eruptions.

See Cyclops’ Islands, have lunch in Acitrezza

Once docked at the port of Acitrezza we will accompany you to take the pedal boat (included, but it depends on availability of the season), the only way to be able to go inside the marine reserve "Cyclops’ Island". If the pedalo is not available or if you don’t like to go with the pedalo, you will have the chance to visit the little kind village of Acitrezza in one hour. When you come back on board we will offer you a tipycal lunch included in the price with an appetizer, pasta with mussels, fruit, water and local white wine.

Back to our home port

During the return trip you can take a bath offshore (weather permitting). You will be back in Catania around 6.00 p.m.
