The Villa, built to bring together only the cardinal's archeological pieces, was enriched over the centuries by works by extraordinary artists such as Bernini, Caravaggio, Canova, who now occupy the first floor of the Villa. On the second floor is the art gallery which houses works by Raphael, Botticelli, Correggio, Domenichino, Tiziano and others. At the Borghese Gallery you can then admire, all in one room, six extraordinary paintings by Caravaggio, the first prodigious sculptures and until the acquisition by Cardinal Scipione, sometimes unscrupulously moved to the limit of legality.
