 Hiking in the Euganean Hills

With this trekking-tour, we'll discover the Monte Venda along Lorenzoni path. Monte Venda, is the highest hill of the Euganean Hills and the only true mountain to its height over 600 m.

We'll start our walk alog Lorenzoni path from Casa Marina in Galzignano Terme and we'll proceed towards the top of the hill.

During our walk, we will have the opportunity to visit the ruins of the Monastery of the Benedictines (Order of the Olivietani) monks. Of the medieval building, dedicated to the St. John the Baptist, remain today just ruins, part of the Monastery, of the clocktower and of the crypt. The legends is said to be in 1197 by Adamo da Torreglia who decided to spend the rest of his life here as a hermit and was done by the Benedictine monks of Santa Giustina of Padua.

Monte Venda has even been an important NATO base. From 1955 until 1998 the mountain was a fundamental point of information where over 500 soldiers worked.
