This tour takes visitors back in time to the early renaissance when Lucca as a thriving republic created the city as can be seen today. We view the walls and note the different timing of various construction dating back to the city’s founding in the time of Julius Caesar.

As we walk along the streets of Lucca, the guide will share anecdotes and historical information. You will learn about the 19th century aqueduct that feeds the town’s fountains; the many styles of the local architecture representing centuries of history; and about the construction and defensive capabilities of Lucca’s impressive walls

Stop At: Lucca, Lucca, Province of Lucca, Tuscany

After meeting the guide at the designated place and an introduction we will start our tour walking this unique midieval city. We will visit the area where Giacomo Puccini was born, the magnificent Cathedral, the Roman amphitheatre, the 16th C defense walls which are the only ones in italy still completely standing. And much more. If guests like we can rent bikes but that is an extra cost.
