What you will soon realize is how passionate the Naepolitans are for their native soil, a bond developed during the centuries, strengthened as a reaction to the different dominations, wars and diseases. It is a real feeling of belonging. Your guide will help you getting in touch with this culture, leading you into the streets of the historical centre, and showing you places that have become symbols of Naples.
You will meet your guide in Piazza Dante, by the Dante’s statue in the middle of the square. You will then pass through Portalba, one of the doors to the core of the Greek urban settlement, established during the Spanish Government. Walking on via dei Tribunali you will reach the Agora’ – also known as the Forum in Roman times. The smell of pizza, pastry and street food is in the air, and you cannot resist it. So, together with your guide, find a nice spot and enjoy a pizza a portafoglio, Passing by San Gregorio Armeno – the street famous all around the world for the small nativities’ shops -  you will reach Spaccanapoli, piazzetta Nilo, piazza san Domenico Maggiore, Palazzo Venezia, to end in Piazza del Gesu’ Nuovo, where you will see two churches: the Italian gothic style Santa Chiara Monastery and the New Jesus Church. You will surely be interested by the legend of the façade, and the mistery hidden behind the black diamond stones.
You will then move ahead to Piazza Municipio, where you will see the Maschio Angioino (New Castle), the fortress wanted by the French family Angio’, that soon became the symbol of Naples capital of the South Italy Kingdom, and end in piazza del Plebiscito – from where you can enjoy a lovely walk on the seaside. But before leaving you, enter the caffe’ Gambrinus and have a coffee and a sfogliatella!
