Guided tour in Martina Franca discovering a lovely town rich in art and culture, immersed in the Itria Valley.
The tour will start from Santo Stefano entrance gate, one of the ancient gateway in the city walls; we'll visit the Ducal Palace, which was residence of the Caracciolo Dukes, feudal Lords of Martina Franca, and preserves valuable interiors completely frescoed.
We'll admire the San Martino Basilica, the main church of the town, built in the half of the 1700s in a Late Baroque style.
Walking along the alleys of the historical centre, we will meet elegant noble palaces which made the Martina Baroque style famous, such as Palazzo Motolese, Palazzo Fanelli, Palazzo Magli, Palazzo Casavola.
The tour will continue towards the San Pietro entrance gate and tower, that enclose the old town and were part of the system of fortification defending the city, and will end at the La Lama district, the most ancient area in Martina Franca.
