Stop At: Centro Storico di Polignano a Mare, Polignano a Mare Italy
Departure from the Marchesale Arch which represents the ancient gateway to the fortified city, to admire a remaining part of the walls and the prospectus of Palazzo Marchesale.
Stop in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II where the Clock Tower and the Mother Church stand out, with the Romanesque façade dated end 1200.
Walk along the alleys of the ancient village and overlooking the three panoramic balconies from which you can admire the wonderful view of the marina and the Polignano coast.
Continue to Piazza San Benedetto and Via Muraglia, skirting those that once were the defensive walls.
Leaving the old town we will pass over the Roman Bridge, built near the Via Traiana, and on the Borbonic Bridge, which from the top of its 15 meters offers a unique landscape of Cala Lama Monachile and the perched village.
The walk continues and ends on the Lungomare Domenico Modugno, where the statue in honor of the world-famous singer-songwriter for his song "In the blue painted blue" is installed.
Here you can expect another amazing scenery to admire: the old city on the sheer rock, the mighty Bastion of Santo Stefano and the harbor cove.
