Rione Monti is one of the prettiest districts in Rome and is located right in the heart of the city, just a stone's throw from the Colosseum and Piazza Venezia. Your expert guide will make sure you see all the area's highlights and learn all about the district's art, history and culinary traditions. There will also be plenty to interest shopping lovers as you breathe in the atmosphere of what is often called the “real” Rome.

The first points of interest on your walking tour are the medieval towers of the Capocci and Graziani families. After that, you will take a stroll to the Church of Saint Peter in Chains, one of Rome's oldest Catholic churches and founded by Empress Eudossia in order to house the chains with which Saint Peter was bound when he was taken prisoner in Jerusalem. Another fascinating feature of the church is a statue of Moses, a funeral monument for Pope Julius II and one of the most highly esteemed works of art from the Renaissance period.
