In the hub of the authentic medieval village see the “Pantan”, with its ancient families’ coats of arms and fortified portals, we’ll visit the old, characteristic “Botteghe” that still sell the hand-made products of the Argentina Valley. Canestrelli, borage grissini and other sweet or savoury bakery specialties, made with the local extra-virgin olive oil, are an unexpected surprise.

During the guided tour you will also taste “Taggiasca” olives and the extra virgin olive oil produced in the Argentina Valley.

This freshly squeezed extra virgin olive or EVO oil of a golden light straw-yellow color, is pleasantly fruity in taste, and has a delicate hint of sweetness. Its unique and smooth taste makes it is an ideal accompaniment to Mediterranean dishes. But there is more: the olives from the Taggia area are crushed in local “frantoi” within 24 hours of harvesting so the finished product hasn’t lost any of the more than 200 therapeutic properties researchers are discovering on an ongoing basis.
