Ostia Antica is the thirty-fifth fraction of Rome and its name derives from Ostium, mouth of the river, in this place in fact the Tiber ended its run that was going to throw itself in the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Born as a military base at the time of Anco Marzio to control the activities of mining and trade in salt and then with the growing commercial needs of Rome, it becomes an increasingly important port to be the most important commercial node of the Mediterranean in the first centuries of the Empire.

It preserves the remains of its hard-working life as the most important port of Rome but also the places of daily life of its inhabitants, of the cults that took place there and of the civic and social life of an ancient city. To visit it is to immerse yourself in a lost world where the ruins and the original mosaic decorations speak for themselves like a great history book. We will visit the Borgo, founded by Gregorio IV in 830, where we can admire, as if time had never passed, the little square, the church and the castle of Julius II. You will be immersed in the Archaeological Park of Ostia Antica which is one of the largest and most famous in Italy equaling only that of Pompei. We will visit the Roman theater, still in use for summer performances, therefore the remains of thermal plants, temples and various types of residences, both for rich families and simpler and more popular homes.
