The majestic Royal Palace of Caserta was built at the behest of King Charles of Bourbon as the new administrative center of the Kingdom of Naples, entrusting the design to the architect Luigi Vanvitelli. The royal palace was built on the model of the Palace of Versailles, covering an area of about 47,000 square meters, while the grandiose park extends for 3 km. We will visit the Old Apartment, inhabited by Ferdinand IV and Maria Carolina, with its many rooms frescoed by court artists; we will continue with a visit to the Nuovo Apartment, with the imposing throne room where the king received delegations and ambassadors. On request it is possible to extend the tour with a visit to the Park, to admire the beautiful Italian Garden fountains and the romantic English Garden landscape.
