Tour of the excavations of Paestum

An ancient legend tells that Jason, at the head of the Argonauts' expedition, stopped at the mouth of the Sele where he founded a sanctuary in honor of Hera. It is here that, beyond the river, Greek colonists from Sibari founded Poseidonia around 600 BC. We will visit its majestic temples, the square used for political and commercial activities, the shops and homes. We will continue the tour inside the Archaeological Museum, to retrace the history of the Greek city through the archaeological finds: architectural materials from the temples, Greek vases decorated with mythological episodes, but above all the famous Tomba del Tuffatore, an exceptional document for its uniqueness.
