Traditional Home Cooking Experience in Florence

Participate in an authentic hands-on cooking class at the home of a local Florentine chef. Head to a traditional food market beforehand with the chef to select ingredients for the meal. Afterwards, enjoy the lunch you’ve prepared, with some local wine.

Experience an authentic culinary experience with a local chef on this 4-hour cooking program in Florence.

You’ll be met in the city center by your host, and together you’ll visit an old, off-the-beaten-path food market popular with the Florentine people. You’ll be shown how to select the best seasonal ingredients for preparing traditional great recipes later in your host's home.

Typically, you’ll prepare a first course, a second course, and a traditional Italian dessert. With the chef you’ll make Tuscan specialties such as handmade pasta, tagliatelle, ravioli, and gnocchi with vegetable sauces, meat, or fish. You may also make tomato soup and meat with mushrooms, meatballs, rolls, scallops, fish soup, or fish cooked in various local ways.

For dessert, there may be tiramisu, almond biscuits, or chocolate cake. You’ll be active in preparing these typical Tuscan recipes and be able to replicate them once you’ve returned home, surprising your guests!

This is sure to be a fun experience and one in which you’ll be fully involved. At the end of the cooking lesson, you’ll have lunch with your host, tasting the dishes you’ve prepared and enjoying some great local wine.
