What you do not expect from a town which is famous on a tourist level. Not only sea, not only a town centre full of attractions. There is so much culture too, colours, unexpected views. From historical buildings spread out over three ancient zones up the works of art in the different churches. It will be lovely to wander aimlessly down the narrow streets, see patches of blue sky above ancient and very high houses, go into and come out of the old part of the town through its gates.

Let us take you for a stroll through Sanremo’s Medieval heart (La Pigna - the pinecone, after its shape), and then discover the wonders and scents of the 0-km fresh food market.

Our walking tour will start in front of the Sanremo Casino, then we'll walk along the elegant shopping area (the main pedestrian street), and we'll enter the Medieval town passing through the fourteenth-century Porta di Santo Stefano, a gothic stone arch which functions as a border between the modern and the medieval heart of San Remo.

La Pigna can only be discovered on foot strarting from Santo Stefano square and heading to the sanctuary of Madonna della Costa, which is the main religious builiding of the town.
