Pass By: Ghetto Ebraico, Piazza delle Cinque Scole, 00186 Rome Italy

Through a pleasant walk we will discover the history and the "stories" of one of the most fascinating places in Rome, the ancient Jewish Ghetto. A path full of suggestions, memory and curiosity. We will walk through the streets of the Jewish quarter, starting from the ancient Portico d'Ottavia and from the Church of S.Angelo in Pescheria, silent witnesses of sad events over the centuries. Through the Pons Judeorum we will travel the soil of the Tiber Island, narrating the historical and legendary events that saw it as the protagonist. We will then continue along the perimeter of the Synagogue, to discover the symbols present outside it. We will walk towards Piazza delle Cinque Schole where the Five Jewish Scholes once stood, then destroyed to make way for the construction of the Great Temple. We will leave the square to enter the main street of the neighborhood, where we will meet the oldest house built there by Lorenzo Manlio, ending our journey in the lovely Piazza Mattei.
