Walking Tour of Valley of Temples

This is a 2 hour  walking tour of the World Heritage Site Valley of Temples.

The tour covers the whole lenght of the Archaelogical Park. The guide will inform you about the history of the ancient city Akragas and tell in details about all the temples and other remains still existing and visible on your way.

The total distance to walk is 1,500 mt (almost one mile). The way is plain and the level easy. A shuttle bus service is available from May to October.

You meet your guide at the eastern ticket office of the site. The address is TEMPIO GIUNONE, via Panoramica dei Templi, 92100 Agrigento.

Car parking available.

Tickets cost 10,00 pp. Free under 18 years. Free for everybody in the first Sunday of every month.

You will walk through the whole Valley of Temples. The guide will inform you about the history of the ancient city Akragas and tell in details about all the temples and other remains still existing. You will see from close the Hera, Concordia, Herakles and Olympian Zeus Temples. From afar you will look at the Castor and Pollux and Aesculapius  temples. On your way you will meet the imposing remains of the greek city wall and hundreds of tombs  belonging to the "city of dead": the early Christian and Byzantine necropolis. During the tour you will stroll among the local vegetation that characterizes the landscape of this amazing World Heritage Site that is the Valley of Temples in Agrigento.
