Day 1: Palermo

Arrival at the airport in Palermo and meeting in the historic city center. Accommodation in hotel with welcome cocktail and meeting with the guide who will illustrate the program of the following days. Palermo, the capital of Sicily, was even celebrated by Goethe, the great German poet in love with the "land where lemons bloom". The city draws charm and prestige from a rich and glorious history, which saw it the center of that fruitful and original fusion of cultures - Greek-Byzantine, Arab and Latin - which is the characteristic of the whole island.

Day 2: Palermo
Stop At: Palazzo Pretorio, Municipio di Palermo, Piazza Pretoria, Palermo, Sicily Italy
Breakfast at hotel. Morning dedicated to visiting the main attractions of the historic center, including the Cathedral, the Royal Palace with the precious Palatine Chapel, the Church of San Giovanni degli Eremiti; the Quattro Canti, Teatro Massimo. Lunch with "bread and panelle", a specialty of the Palermo street food. In the afternoon we will continue to Monreale, known for the Cloister and the splendid Cathedral, defined as the eighth wonder of the world for its mosaics. I'm going back to the hotel.

Day 3: Segesta
Stop At: Tempio di Segesta, Contrada Barbaro SNC, 91013 Calatafimi-Segesta, Sicily Italy
Breakfast at hotel. Departure for Segesta and visit of the Doric temple, continuation to Erice, a suggestive medieval village of ancient Greek origins that overlooks the city of Trapani, strolling through the narrow streets paved in stone, you will arrive at the Castle of Venus where the view of Trapani with its salt pans and San Vito lo Capo is unparalleled. Lunch in a restaurant and continue to Marsala where, in addition to the historic center, you can admire the white salt pans and windmills that are still used today for pumping water and grinding salt, in the Reserve of the Lagoon of the Stagnone. This reserve overlooks the Egadi Islands. Dinner offered and in the evening return to the hotel.

Day 4: Agrigento
Stop At: Valle dei Templi, Piazza Archeologica 1 Via Panoramica Dei Templi, 92100, Agrigento, Sicily Italy
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Agrigento, known as "the city of temples". Stop to visit the house where Luigi Pirandello was born, inside which a museum with objects and documents of the writer was set up. Guided tour of the historic center, the cathedral dating back to the 11th century and the Abbey of Santo Spirito, with its decentralized Gothic rose window compared to the main façade, inside which is the Civic Museum. Lunch and in the afternoon transfer to the Valley of the Temples, a place of inestimable beauty which, since 1997, has been included among the sites that became UNESCO World Heritage sites. In the archaeological area we will visit the temple of the Dioscuri, the temple of Concordia, the temple of Hercules, the temple of Jupiter Olympic. I'm going back to the hotel.

Day 5: Caltagirone

Breakfast at hotel. Departure for Caltagirone, UNESCO World Heritage Site, queen of the cities of artistic ceramics. You will visit the historic center, the famous "Scala di Santa Maria del Monte" and admire the culture of ceramics throughout the city: excellent colors in blue, yellow and green adorning streets, stairs, balconies, squares, fountains, churches and palaces. you can buy real ceramic jewels in the many craft shops present. For the lunch break we will offer you a rich snack based on Sicilian diner, accompanied by water and Etna wine. In the afternoon we will move to Piazza Armerina, a medieval town where the famous "Villa Romana del Casale" is located, a perfectly preserved Roman residence of impressive size. The villa, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the most significant examples of a representative residence of the time. Here you can admire the Roman mosaics, considered the most beautiful and best preserved of their kind. The villa is home to 3,500 square meters of figurative and geometric-style mosaic flooring, as well as columns, statues, capitals and coins.

Day 6: Ragusa

Breakfast at hotel. Departure for Ragusa, located in the heart of Val di Noto, in the south east of Sicily, immersed in a territory rich in natural and architectural beauty, Ragusa is also a UNESCO heritage site. Visiting it also means trying the local cuisine, rich in typical products like scacce, Ragusa provola and chocolate, the latter will be tasted during the visit. We will then pass through the historic center of Ragusa Ibla, which contains a heritage of extraordinary richness, which embodies its maximum expression of beauty in the Cathedral of San Giorgio. A few km from Ragusa stands the Castle of Donnafugata, a marvelous nineteenth-century residence unique in its kind, with a rich garden of Mediterranean and exotic plants. Scenario chosen for some films, including the Viceroy and the beloved series of Inspector Montalbano. I'm going back to the hotel.
