Authentic Japanese Tea Ceremony with Licensed Teacher
Are you looking for an authentic tea ceremony?
Our Tea Ceremony is led by an accredited Tea Teacher from the Omotesenke school, based here in Kyoto. We can help you understand the correct manners for Tea and we offer with insights into the Way of Tea. We are certified by the Kyoto Tourism Association.
We are happy to answer all your questions about Tea.
We have organised our Tea space so it is accessible to anyone. You will sit on chairs, rather than kneel on tatami. Its suitable for children and the elderly and is wheelchair accessible.
After our class you will understand how to enjoy matcha powdered tea at home too! Please feel free to contact us for reservations, or with any questions you may have.
We will share an authentic Tea Ceremony in a room decorated with traditional flower arrangements and hanging scroll. We give full explanations in English or Japanese. Depending on the number of guests, the experience will run for about 60-90 minutes.
These days there are many schools of Tea Ceremony, each a bit different. In our class, you will share the Tea experience with a licensed teacher from the Omoteskenke school.
This is a great opportunity to experience a cultural activity with a deep Japanese history.
You can share in an authentic Tea Ceremony and learn how to make matcha yourself. During the class, you can wear an ancient style of kimono (separated style from the Heian period).
If you come with friends or family, you can make tea for each other.
