Wouldn't you like to stay for 2 days and 1 night in Nikko? Nikko is the place where the famous Nikko Toshogu Shrine and Rinnoji temple is located. 

Also Nikko is famous for its beautiful nature, at Oku Nikko there are many trekking and hiking trails as well.

For this tour on the first day you will be exploring the famous temples and shrine on your own. 

However what makes this tour special is that you will be able to participate in a Zazen meditation and cleanse your "worldly desire." 

What is Zazen meditation? 

Sitting in a full-lotus position, it helps to understand the nature of existence.

When doing Zazen there are 3 basics principal. 

Chosoku: settling of your breath

Choshin：settling of your sitting posture

Choshin: settling of your mind

By following these 3 principals you will achieve a stage of deep concentration flow called Zan-Mai. 

For this tour you will able to do this Zen meditation at the famous World Heritage Rinnoji Temple where once the Shogun prayed at. 

The way this tour works is that once you arrive at Nikko Station head to the Tobu Top Tours counter and there you will receive your ticket for both the Nikko Toshogu Shrine and Rinnoji Temple. 

What is Nikko Toshogu Shrine? 

Nikko Toshogu shrine is the final resting place for Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Tokugawa clan that ruled Japan for over 250 years. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this shrine is known for its richly decorated buildings within a beautiful forest. One of the thing you will notice when you go to Nikko Toshogu is the five story pagoda Gojunoto. 

What is Rinnoji Temple? 

Rinnoji temple is one of the most important, this temple was too founded by the monk Shodo Shonin. 

After the Zazen experience please head to your hotel and check in. 

The hotel information and directions will be sent by Beauty of Japan after your booking has been confirmed.

Please relax and rest up at your hotel for the next day's trekking. 

For the 2nd day of the tour a professional trekking guide will meet you at the hotel at 9:00AM. 

This friendly and informative guide will take you to places thats not well known around Oku Nikko, here you will spend a day and enjoy the wonderful nature of Nikko.

Day 1

8:50am Please go to Asakusa station on your own

9:00am Please take limited express train (Revaty)from Asakusa station 

10:54am Arrive at Tobu Nikko station

(Please go to the counter of Tobu Top tours and receive a coupon for Zen meditation)

11:30am-12:30pm Lunch 

1:00pm-2:30pm Niiko Toshogu shrine / Rinnoji temple 

2:55pm-3:30pm Zen meditation at Rinnoji temple 

4:00pm Please check in to the hotel in Nikko (Kanaya hotel or similar)

Day 2

9:00am Meet with a hiking guide at the lobby of the hotel 

10:00am-12:00pm Trekking in Oku-Nikko

1:00pm-2:00pm Lunch 

3:23pm Take limited express train (Revaty)from Tobu Nikko station 

5:15pm Arrive at Asakusa station and tour ends
