Stop At: Zenko-ji Temple, I-491 Motoyoshicho, Nagano 380-0851 Nagano Prefecture

Zenkoji Temple is a National Tresure and one of Japan's most important pilgrimage sites. This is the temple which was said that the people had to visit at least one time in their life time in the Edo era. The approach to the temple passes through the Nimon Gate and the Sanmon Main Gate, and is lined by Nakamise street ; a myriad of shops and restaurants. The Nimon gate consists of two guardian statues facing each other "Agyo" on the left and "Ungyo" on the right. The Sanmon is Zenkoji temple's main gate. Nakamise street is a shopping street in front of the temple gate and enjoy specialties, local products and delicious food of Ngano.

The Jigokudani Monkey Park and its famous visitors from all over the world. Through watcing humans soaking in the hot spring, the macaques soon copied the behavior themselves and thus became the only monkeys in the world known to enjoy bathing in Onsen (natural hot spring). The monkeys enjoy bathing especially during the cold winter months, when the air temprature drops below freezing and the valley is covered by a thick layer of snow."Snow Monkey Mountain"
