In rural village , knowledge of traditional plant medicine has been handed down from generations to generations. This is off-the-beaten path experience to learn about ethno-botanical local knowledge how to utilize natural resources. A local guide will also show you around the village after the workshop.

Itinerary

Miyama is located 1.5 hours away from Kyoto city, known for its well preserved thatched house hamlet .Traditional knowledge on wild plants, utilization of natural resources are still alive in this village, along with the landscape with full of natural beauty. You will visit a medicinal herb garden producing various unique products by using dried wild herbs harvested in their garden, and learn about traditional medicinal herbs rooted in Japan, making medicinal herbal tea from the plants naturally grown in the garden. Also meals using wild plants will be served by local villagers.
