Itinerary

Experience Ikebana, Japanese traditional flower arrangement in Hiroshima city.This tour will take about 1 hour.

Meet at Kobata Hyakkaen Main Store. Please come 15 min. before the start time. The venue is a long-established flower shop with a history of 70 years, which is located in a busy district of Hiroshima. The shop has many instructors and each instructor holds several classrooms every day from morning to evening except Sundays, you can take Ikebana lessons at any time you like.

There is a huge flower shop downstairs of the classroom, so our lesson starts from selecting flowers. You may choose colors and types of flowers with an instructor. Under the instructor's guidance start arranging flowers. The instructor will give you explanations of scissors and other tools, and the methods of "mizu-age" and "mizu-kiri" used in trimming stems. Finally, instructor's feedback will be given to the arranged flowers. After taking a commemorative photo, the lesson is finished. You can take your Ikebana work home. As our lesson held in a flower shop, you can see plenty of Japanese flowers, trees and leaves delivered every morning and you might definitely enjoy them.
