About Okonomiyaki

There are two styles of in making Japanese pancake such as Osaka style and Hiroshima

style.In Osaka style, we mix the ingredients such as eggs, flour and other different toppings

and fry the mixture on the pan.

In Hiroshima style, ingredients are not mixed but layered. Each layer is put on top of each.

Noodles are also put on in Hiroshima style.

There is similar food in Tokyo called Monjyayaki.The taste of Monjayaki is similar to that

of okonomiyaki. You can imagine that Monjayaki is a watery version of okonomiyaki. It’s as

delicious as okonomiyaki despite of the appearance that is different from Okonomiyaki.

Konamono means flour (kona) based dishes such as okonomiyaki or takoyaki.

They are a type of teppan-yaki dish (cooked on hot iron plate) using flour, and is one of Japan's inexpensive foods.
