Book this 1-hour work shop to experience this unique traditional Japanese art form made of woodblock printing. Woodblock printing was widely adopted in Japan during the Edo period (1603-1868) known as the Japanese traditional art of "Ukiyo-e" on a single sheet. There are some well-known Woodblock Prints including the famous "Akafuji" and "The Great Wave off Kanagawa". Your English-speaking woodblock print master and the friendly young staff will go through the printing process with you. Come as you are and children are welcome, too! It's completely safe for children as it doesn't uses any dangerous chemicals or fumes. You can bring your print back as your one-of-the-kind souvenir from Japan!

Make your own woodblock print in a one-hour session in Asakusa workshop!

This facility has decades of experience at coaching people through the process of making a woodblock print. Their system is not 'Print- making for Dummies', but the method they have created gives excellent results, even for people without previous experience. Come as you are (shop aprons are provided) and because traditional woodblock printmaking uses no dangerous chemicals or fumes, it's completely safe your kids can also join the party (school age and up, please...) It's great fun watching the colors build up one-by-one as your finished print comes to life!
