Soba noodle making
Japanese have a spirit called "omotenashi". It's about providing heartwarming treatment and service. The culture of making buckwheat noodles in traditional home and offering it to customers with sincerity is a representation of the true spirit of hospitality. A valuable experience which can not be enjoyed in the restaurant is possible in this workshop.

In this class you can experience making soba noodles by hand. You can then enjoy eating the soba noodles you made as part of a traditional Japanese meal cooked for you by the hosts.
Soba is a noodle that is made by using buckwheat flour made from grain buckwheat. Soba noodles have a long history, and they are a typical part of Japanese cuisine like sushi and tempura.
First, we will introduce each other. We will explain about how to make delicious soba. We will give you our delicious soba recipes. Please put on aprons and also plastic gloves. We will start making soba dough. Making a good soba dough requires some skill. Amount of water may vary depend on the weather and season. After we finish making soba dough, we will cut the dough into noodles. We will boil it and cool it. We will enjoy it for lunch or dinner.
Japanese cuisine is recognized as intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO and there are many kinds of Japanese food but soba making is unique, traditional and loved by many nationalities.
