The Masai Mara is one of the best known and most popular reserves in the whole of Africa. At times and in certain places it can get a little overrun with tourist vehicles, but there is something so special about it that tempts you back time and again. Seasoned safari travelers, travel writers, documentary makers and researchers often admit that the Masai Mara National Game Reserve is one of their favorite places. Why is that so? Perhaps it is because of the big skies, the open vast Savannah, the romance of films like Out of Africa and certainly because of the annual wildebeest migration, the density of game, the variety of bird life and the chance of a hot air balloon ride as tourist’s overlook game from above.

Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi-Masai Mara

Stop At: Maasai Mara National Reserve, Maasai Mara National Reserve, Rift Valley Province
Pick up from your hotel in Nairobi at 7.30 am and head southward to the viewpoint of the great rift valley, continue to Narok a small Maasai town then to Maasai Mara, welcome briefing by management and staff at the Enchoro Wildlife Camp then lunch followed by afternoon game viewing to see the many animals that inhabit this unique park, return to Enchoro wildlife camp before sunset, sit around the campfire, and hear the sounds of the night whisper softly into your ears.

Day 2: Full Day in Masai Mara

Stop At: Maasai Mara National Reserve, Maasai Mara National Reserve, Rift Valley Province
After breakfast spend the full day game drive (duration appx 7hours), explore the parks amazingly high concentration of game. This game reserve is Kenya's finest wildlife sanctuary including migrants, well over 450 species of animals have been recorded here although July, August and September are the months when the Mara plains are filled with migrating wildebeest and zebra, there is also resident wildlife year round. Today, you will have picnic lunch in the park.
(Optional- extra cost) Visit the famous Maasai tribesmen who live within the dispersal area of the game reserve.

Day 3: Masai Mara-Nairobi

Stop At: Maasai Mara National Reserve, Maasai Mara National Reserve, Rift Valley Province
An early morning game drive in Masai Mara followed by late breakfast at the campsite and a departure to Nairobi stopping sporadically for the breathtaking panoramic views of the rift valley and adjacent landforms. The tour ends in Nairobi late in the afternoon with sweet memories.
