3Days Northern Circuit - Samburu and Buffalo Springs National Reserve Safari

The Samburu N.R is on the banks of the Ewaso Ng'iro river. The reserve is reach in wildlife with fame for abundance in rare northern specialist species such as the Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk and the Beisa Oryx (Also referred as Samburu Special). The reserve is also popular with a minimum of 900 elephants. Large predators such as the Lion, Leopard and Cheetah are an important attraction. Accommodation can be upgraded to mid range or luxury lodge option upon request.

Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi - Samburu National Reserve

Pass By: Samburu National Reserve, Nairobi Kenya
Pickup from your hotel in Nairobi or airport and drive to Samburu National Reserve. Drive past the scenic Nairobi Nanyuki Isiolo highway with captivating views of snow-capped Mt Kenya. We shall also make a brief stop at the Equator line near Nanyuki town. We arrive at the camp at noon. Have lunch and later go out to the Samburu for our first afternoon game drive which will introduce you to the animals that are unique to this area. Return by evening to the camp for dinner and overnight stay at the camp.

Day 2: Samburu/Buffalo Springs National Reserve Full Day

Pass By: Buffalo Springs Reserve, Buffalo Springs Game Reserve Kenya
We explore the park in morning and afternoon game drives. Due to the temperatures here its is only advisable that we take the option of morning game from 6.30 AM to around 10.00 AM and when it gets hot the animals go deeper in the bush to hide. We return to the camp. Chill around or have an optional visit to a Samburu visit to learn the local community culture, wait for lunch and after lunch we can have another game drive later in the afternoon when temperatures drop. Samburu is home to huge herds of elephants, antelopes, many birds species and more. Be on the lookout for samburu special five i.e Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy Zebra, Gerenuk, Somali Ostrich and Beisa oryx. The big cats are also relatively easy to spot here compared to other parks and if lucky you may spot a pride of lions or a leopard on trees. Catch the DikDik a very small African Antelope that is only 12 inches high.

Return to the camp in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Samburu - Nairobi

Pass By: Samburu National Reserve, Nairobi Kenya
Early morning game drive in the Samburu. Return to the camp for breakfast thereafter and prepare to leave Samburu for Nairobi. We shall have our lunch en route. Arrive at the city later in the afternoon and be dropped at the airport of city hotel.
