Biking Adventure through Hells Gate

Hells Gate & Lake Naivasha Trip from Nairobi explores Hell's Gate National Park - the only National Park in Kenya which visitors are free to leave their vehicle and walk in the Park. Hell's Gate National Park is an ideal getaway for a day trip from Nairobi.

Day 1

Nairobi – Lake Naivasha

Depart Nairobi at 7:30am by road to Hell's Gate National Park. Once at the Park, you have the option of a game drive in a Safari vehicle or take bikes into the Park. Cycling in the Park is a great adventure as you get to ride the bikes for 7 Kilometers before resting at a ranger's post.

After a brief stop at the rangers post you leave the bike and start a walking safari. Enjoy the spectacular views of the gorge. The walking trip or safari takes 3 hours. The park provides a variety of wildlife, unusual flora and many species of birds and is one of the only two Kenyan Parks where climbing, walking and biking are allowed.

Animals seen here include Bushbucks, Dikdiks, Gazelles, Gnus, Hartebeests, Impalas, Klipspringers, Buffaloes, Hyraxes, Zebras, Hyenas, Jackals, Mongooses, Baboons, Monkeys and Porcupines amongst others.

The park has historically been an important home for the rare lammergeyer vultures. over 103 species of birds have been recorded in this park, including vultures, Verreaux's Eagles.

Day 2: Naivasha – Drive to Nairobi

This morning after breakfast we take a nature walk at Crescent Island which is an excellent way to see wild animals while on foot.

The Island is a private game sanctuary, which is home to zebra, wildebeest, gazelle, Vervet monkeys, hares, genet cats, waterbuck and giraffe. Or you may wish to lounge by the pool admiring the view of zebras, Giraffes and waterbuck just outside the fence.
