The tour starts just outside your hotel, from Watamu in 30 minutes we will be in Gede and start the guided tour with a site guide. Before entering we will be greeted by the harmless monkeys that now inhabit the area.

Gede or Gedi comes from the Oromo dialect. It is located in the forest of the ARABUKO SOKOKE. The lost city of GEDE was a settlement of Swahili Arabs with more than 2500 inhabitants and now it is possible to visit its ruins. Gede today has been chosen as a home by a rich settlement of vervets: lively and funny monkeys, which accompany visitors to the city in exchange for a few bananas!
