Destination Pakbeng with experience 50% overland + 50% Mekong River Cruise. En route visit flower and waterfall garden at Tad Hoi Khua before heading uphill toward Pakbeng, on the way, we would have chance to drop off few hill tribe villages to experience their local way of life. You will then travel along a paved winding road with unique mountainous views. The journey takes around 4-5hrs. You will arrive in Pakbeng by late afternoon. Itinerary

Day 1: Luang Prabang – Pakbeng

Stop At: Luang Prabang, Luang Prabang, Luang Prabang Province
Breakfast: Head to Pakbeng, start by crossing the ferry from main UNESCO of Luang Prabang town to opposite side of Xiengmen passing to Hongsay. En route visit flower and waterfall garden at Tad Hoi Khua before heading uphill toward Pakbeng, on the way, we would have chance to drop off few hill tribe villages to experience their local way of life. You will then travel along a paved winding road with unique mountainous views. The journey takes around 4-5hrs. You will arrive in Pakbeng by late afternoon. Here you can relax by the infinity swimming pool to watch the sunset at Le Grand Pakbeng Resort whilst sampling a wide array of cocktails. (L)

Day 2: Discovery Pakbeng

Stop At: Pakbeng, Pakbeng, Oudomxay Province
Breakfast: Head 17 km to Ban Kham which hosts traditional bamboo houses built on stilts above the ground. People live on the first floor of houses raised on timber stilts. Under the house the family keep animals, craft equipment such as a loom and simple food processing machines like large wooden mortars and pestles, a tradition dating back many years. Here you can have a go at panning for gold.
Afternoon: Visit Pakbeng town featuring small cafes, restaurants and a couple of bars. The coffee shops are a must to visit. Here the local people will greet you and advice you on their culture. Sample the freshly made baguettes or chocolate muffins whilst relaxing with a coffee and watching the daily flow of foot traffic. Free time to relax by the infinity swimming pool.

Day 3: Pakbeng—Luang Prabang

Stop At: Luang Prabang, Luang Prabang, Luang Prabang Province
Breakfast: Transfer hotel to pier to board a river cruise, head down stream to Luang Prabang. On the way you will stop at the Pak Ou Caves one of the most popular sights accessible from the river. A place of worship for over 1,000 years, they are home to thousands of Buddhas left by grateful pilgrims. Arrival in Luang Prabang by late afternoon. (L)
