Ultimate Mekong Cruise up Adventure 3 days, 2 nights

This one-day excursion is easy trip travelling through many fascinating local villages, seeing heritage preservation culture and daily way of life! Along the way you will drop off and speak to friendly villagers, spending time in various ethnic group villages. Itinerary

Day 1: Luang Prabang to Pakbeng

Stop At: Luang Prabang, Luang Prabang, Luang Prabang Province
The boat leaves the CALAO boat pier at 7:00am for upstream the Mekong to Pakbeng. On the way, we will stop to visit Pak Ou Caves (Tham Ting) and its thousands of Buddha images. Lunch is served on board. The boat arrives in Pakbeng before the night. Overnight in Pakbeng.

Notice: Our boats leave Luang Prabang at 7:00 AM. So please be at the CALAO boat pier at 6:45 AM.

Day 2: Day trip to ethnic villages and hill town

Stop At: Pakbeng, Pakbeng, Oudomxay Province
Destination Ban Kham Villages visit
AM: In the morning drive 7Km from Le Grand Pakbeng Resort by the main road using local transportation. This trip takes you on dirt roads to the Khmu villages, Follow your guide on a red-soil dirt road, passing small forests, rice fields, some spectacular scenery and a rustic villages with wooden houses. Stop along the way for photo ops of the local children and hard-working farmers in the field. You can also visit local primary schools and kindergartens.

On arrival at the home of a Khmu family at Ban Kham village, take part in daily life, including some steps of peeling rice by hand during your time in the village, your guide will introduce you to some traditional customs of the Khmu people and how difference between three biggest ethnic groups in Laos, from there, we return hotel.

PM: After a rest at the hotel, we begin our short excursion to little hill town of Pakbeng district, stopping along the way to visit the boat pier Wat Chomjeng Temple, Wat Kokkor temple. Than next to explore at local market, this where all local people of Pakbeng district come to do their daily shopping, You will see a variety of local foodstuffs and products including dried buffalo skin, local tea and saltpeter among the chickens, fish, vegetables and fruit, everything needed for daily life in Laos. Tea/coffee break at the local restaurants by the Mekong Riverside. Return to hotel by late afternoon.

Day 3: Pakbeng to Houay Xay

Stop At: Houay Xay, Laos
day 3: Embark at 7:00am on the boat.. Visit a Kamu village on the Mekong River. Lunch is served on board. After stopping in Pak Tha to have the boat documents signed, we will arrive in Houay Xay around 4:30pm (possibility to continue the journey to Thailand on the same day). End of services.
