Artisans of Ladakh are experts of making copper artifacts for hundreds of years. Sadly, this art is fading away and is now left limited to a few remote pockets in Ladakh. Through this tour, we want to revive this dying art and also help in improving the livelihood of the villagers. We will take you to the last remaining four Himalayan villages where this art is still practiced. Try this art with your own hands as the artisans teach you this skill. Take back a memorable souvenir for yourself.

Itinerary

Day 1: Acclimatization at Leh - Pick up from the airport and arrive at your hotel in Leh (11,500ft).
Day 2: Explore the history of copper art and drive to a first artisan village - See the work of local copper artisans, try your hands-on Archery and see local apple and apricot farms
Day 3: Homestay at village Chilling - Last remaining a major hub of copper handicrafts with at least 10 artisans
Day 4: Hike to Sumda-Chenmo - Trek alongside a river stream through a beautiful valley for 5-6 hrs
Day 5: Explore copper art and try hands-on on it - Interacting with the artisans, learning the techniques, about the tools and hands-on experience of making a copper artifact.
Day 6: Trek back to Rangdoh, drive to Leh - Visiting the ancient monastery. Explore Leh market
Day 7: Goodbye Ladakh - We’ll drop you to the airport as per your flight schedule.
