Round Penang Island Tour

Touring around Penang Island, the “Pearl of the Orient” from its sandy shores to quaint countryside. Stops include an idyllic fishing village, a cottage industry to witness the traditional handicraft of Batik painting, the countryside for introduction of tropical spices like clove and nutmeg, local fruits in season and try rubber tapping. Photo-stop at a typical Malay village, admire the street arts in the small town of Balik Pulau and visit the legendary Snake Temple, where Pit Vipers adorn the altars. Tour completes after covering approximately 80-kilometre of different routes and scenery.​

Teluk Bahang is a busy fishing village in the northwest corner of Penang. There is a jetty and a shallow inlet where small fishing boats are moored.

Stop At: Penang Batik Factory, 651 Jalan Teluk Bahang, Penang Island 11000 Malaysia

Penang Batik Factory is one of the pioneers of batik manufacturing on the island. The complex is divided into three sections - an art gallery, boutique and workshop. Surrounded by lots of tropical greenery, it is one of Penang's well known sightseeing spots and offers a wide variety of quality batik, from block prints batiks to hand-drawn pieces. Here, unlike the usual one-sided print, each piece features patterns and colours on both sides of the fabric.

Snake Temple was built in 1850, dedicated to Chor Soo Kong, a Buddhist priest and healer. It is one of the few places where you can get up close to a bunch of venomous snakes and live to tell the tale.
