SANDAKAN WILDLIFE Orang Utan Proboscis Monkey Sunbear SANCTUARIES

A Wildlife experience with an encounter with Orang Utans, the endemic Long nose Proboscis monkey and the world's smallest bear - Borneon Sunbear.  Capture a overview of the Sandakan city before stopping by the famous Australian War memorial.  (OPTIONAL: You may OPT to return back to the Orang Utan center for the afternoon feeding In place of the City tour with visit to the Australian War memorial in the afternoon).

Borneo Rainforest houses three very unique animals that are endemic to the area, namely the Orang Utan. the Proboscis monkeys and the Borneon Sunbear.  Visit the world's oldest Orang Utan Rehabilitation Sanctuary at Sepilok to learn more about this ape which shares 96.4% of the human genetic makeup. Then, proceed to Labuk Bay Sanctuary to meet the long nose Proboscis monkey.  As sources of their food dwindle due to diminishing habitats, the sanctuary has made efforts to supplement the monkey's diet with vegetables.  Other wildlife such as hornbills and silver leaf monkeys can be seen occasionally.  After lunch, visit the Bornean Sunbear Conservation Centre and Australian War Memorial Park, the original WWII camp site before enjoying an overview of Sandakan City  (OPTIONAL:  You may opt to return back to the orang utan center for the afternoon feeding in place of the overview of Sandakan city and the Australia war memorial.  Kindly indicate when placing a booking).
