Sandakan, the former capital of British North Borneo, is the second largest city in Sabah after Kota Kinabalu. It is located in the East Coast of Sabah and is famous for its wide range of seafood available. Back in the days, it was known as Sabah’s ‘Little Hong Kong’ due to the large amount of Chinese migrants from Hong Kong.

After lunch, you will proceed to Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary before doing some sightseeing around the town, where you will visit the Puh Jih Shih Temple and pass by Sim Sim Water Village.

Stop At: Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, Jalan Sepilok located in Sepilok, Sandakan 90000 Malaysia

You have the chance to see rescued ex-pet sun bears on their road to rehabilitation, as well as local flora and fauna such as orangutans, macaques, squirrels, and diverse tropical tree species.

You can see Borneo's Indigenous proboscis monkey at privately-owned sanctuary.

Stop At: Puu Jih Shih Buddhist Temple, Sandakan Malaysia

It is a biggest Buddhist temple at Sandakan. You can get panoramic view of Sandakan bay, the town and the Sulu Sea from the temple.
