Mayan ancestral cooking classes-
With the help of a Mayan descendant, it begins with a tour in the local market to buy fresh and native ingredients from the Mayan area. We will prepare 4 typical dishes of the traditional Mayan cuisine. Using techniques and recipes inherited from our Mayan ancestors. It is cooked outdoors and inside a Mayan house, we use wood and charcoal to cook all our dishes.
We begin with a tour in the municipal market where we will buy some ingredients that are used for the cooking class, then we move to the facilities of the traditional Mayan cuisine.
Sample Menu
• Sikil P'ack - Appetizer, roasted pumpkin seed and ground by hand, mixed with roasted tomato on the fathoms and a touch of chives.
• T'zotobichay - Chaya Tamale Scrambled corn dough with chaya leaf, filled with powdered pumpkin seed, wrapped with banana leaf.
• Jacketed - Handmade corn tortilla, stuffed with organic egg, served with a sautéed chaya, onion and ixcatik chili.
• Púoc Chúuk - Pork roasted on the fathoms, marinated with sour orange and spices.
