In this four day and three night Yucatan Discovery Tour we first visit the Rio Lagartos Biosphere home of the flamingos, crocodiles and other sea life. Stay the night at Valladolid in a colonial hotel in the city square then explore the Yucatan Peninsula and Quintana Roo first The Archaeological wonder of Chichen Itza a modern world wonder and capital of a great civilization then Ek Balam the city of the Black Jaguar. Merida the capital city of the Yucatan state also known as the white city, Uxmal the city three times built with its magnificent mayan baroque style architecture and we visit a Beautiful hidden Cenote of crystalline waters. Then onto Coba a classic mayan site and Tulum the city by the sea

Itinerary

Day 1: Rio Lagartos - Valladolid

Stop At: Parque Natural Ria Lagartos, Rio Lagartos 97720 Mexico
Rio Lagartos Biosphere to catch a boat and see the diverse species of birds like Herons, fishing Eagle, pelicans and of course the flamingos. Also along the way we may see other inhabitants of the coastal ecosystem within the mangrove forests such as the mighty crocodiles and Raccoons. We arrive at the world famous Coloradas or “magenta waters” these are pink lakes that cover the landscape and contrast beautifully with the blue skies. The amazing pink color of these lakes is due to red-colored algae, plankton, and brine shrimp that thrive in the salty environment and the flamingos are pink because they eat these pink shrimp.

Day 2: Ek Balam - Chichen Itza - Merida

Stop At: 20-minute drive from Valladolid on highway 295, direction Tizimin, Ek Balam Village Mexico
In the morning at the scheduled time (08:30 am) pick up at your hotel to enjoy a full day tour through the most important archaeological sites of the peninsula. The first stop will be in the archaeological zone of Ek Balam (“Star Jaguar or Dark Jaguar” in Maya), with wonderful architecture including “The Acropolis”, which contains the tomb of the ruler Ukit Kan Le’k Tok

Stop At: Chichen Itza Mexico
Continuing with the visit to one of the 7 wonders of the modern world, Chichén Itzá (“Boca del Pozo de los Brujos del agua” in Mayan) admiring, among other buildings, the Pyramid of Kukulcan and the sacred cenote, used by the Mayans to make offerings and sacrifices to their gods. Lodging in Center boutique hotel of Merida.

Day 3: Merida - Hacienda Yaxcopoil - Cenote - Uxmal - Merida City Tour

Uxmal is an ancient Maya city of the classical period It is considered one of the most important archaeological sites of Maya culture, Puuc region special for having the "Adivino" pyramid, the only known temple with an oval plant in the Mayan Culture and is considered one of the Maya cities most representative of the region's dominant architectural style. It has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Merida City Tour
Duration: 30 minutes

Day 4: Coba - Tulum

Stop At: Zona Arqueologica de Coba, Carretera Federal Tulum 307, Coba 77793 Mexico
Meeting with our guide to go to Coba (“Water with moss or chopped water” in Maya), located next to four natural lakes, highlights a pyramid known as “The Nohoch Mul” the big is the tallest temple in the Yucatan Peninsula at 42 meters high with spectacular views from the top.

Stop At: Tulum Archaeological Site, Carretera Federal, Cancun - Chetumal Km 230, 307, Tulum 77780 Mexico
(“Walled City” in Maya) declared a World Heritage Site, located on a cliff facing the Caribbean Sea.
