Lake Khövsgöl is the largest fresh water lake in Mongolia by volume and second largest by area. It is located near the northern border of Mongolia, about 200 km west of the southern end of Lake Baikal. It is nicknamed the "Younger sister" of those two "sister lakes".

Itinerary

Day 1: Ulaanbaatar – Flight to Murun city and Khuvsgul Lake.

Stop At: KHUVSGUL WATERWAY, Hatgal, Mongolia
In the morning, our drivers and guides shall take you from your hotel and take a flight to town of Murun, the center of Khuvsgul Province. Also you‟ll fly with the guide. Upon arrival, meet driver, have lunch and drive to the astonishingly fresh and crystal clear “Khuvsgul Lake” passing through the town of Murun, the center Khuvsgul Province. Khuvsgul National Park is called “Mongolia‟s Switzerland”. The National Park covers 8381 square km and it has been protected since 1992. There are plenty of rare and special animals in the park. Khuvsgul Lake is the deepest lake in Central Asia with a maximum depth of 262 meters and contains 1 percent of the world‟s fresh water. The reflections of the surrounding larch forest and majestic Khoridol

Saridag mountain range on the blue lake water are extremely amazing. Enjoy taking pictures, relaxing or trekking by the crystal blue lake shore. Overnight in a traditional Mongolian ger. (Ger camp/ Lunch, Dinner)

Day 2: Khuvsgul Lake National Park.

Stop At: KHUVSGUL WATERWAY, Hatgal, Mongolia
Today we will visit a Tsaatan or Reindeer people herder‟s family and explore their special nomadic way of the life. Reindeer herders live in tepees in Khuvsgul Province. They herd reindeer for their existence and use reindeer for many purposes: transport, meat, milk, skins for clothes, blood-horns for traditional medicine and other uses. Enjoy horseback riding in the pristine nature of the national park and take an exciting boat journey on the clear blue Khuvsgul Lake water.

Day 3: Khuvsgul Lake National Park.

Stop At: KHUVSGUL WATERWAY, Hatgal, Mongolia
Today is a free relaxing day in pristine nature. Enjoy relaxing by the lake shore or hiking on the edge of the great Taiga forest and exploring the flora & fauna of the area. Also this day, we‟ll visit on Tsaatan family and you can introduce with all of their traditional ethics.

Day 4: Return to Ulaanbaatar.

In the morning we will drive back to Murun, the center of Khuvsgul province and fly back to Ulaanbaatar. Meet at the airport and transfer back to your hotel.
