Traversing through the Gobi Desert and central Mongolia in a single tour enables you to enjoy different terrains and culture.

Itinerary

Day 1: Ulaanbaatar City Tour

Stop At: Gandantegchenling Monastery, 1,5 KM North West of the Central Square, Ulaanbaatar Mongolia
Gandan Monastery is famous for its 24m tall statue of Janraisag and it’s known as main Buddhist temple in Mongolia. Heading to the monastery before midday would be the best time to visit as it’s the time of morning chanting for the lamas and locals. Extra payments are required to take photographs inside the temples.
Have your lunch followed by a visit to National Museum of Mongolia and Sukhbaatar Square.

Stop At: Tumen Ekh Ensemble, National Amusement Park, Ulaanbaatar Mongolia
Tumen Ekh ensemble present a rare selection of ancient Mongolian performing arts and culture to local and international audience. You will witness Mongolian long song, epic and eulogy songs, traditional instruments including the morin khuur (horse headed fiddle), a ritualistic shaman dance, an ancient palace dance and a Tsam mask dance.

Day 2: Fly to Gobi Desert, Explore Vulture Valley

Stop At: Yolyn Am, Located in the Gurvan Saikhan National Park near Dalanzadgad, Mongolia, Dalanzadgad Mongolia
Catch your flight early in the morning and meet your driver at Dalanzadgad airport in South Gobi province. Today you will visit to Yol Valley. An ancient river carved this granite valley, and now its remnant streams create ice formations at the base of the valley that sometimes persists as late as July. Having to see an ice formation and feeling the frigid wind on your face is a rare occasional refreshment in the Gobi desert.

Day 3: Singing Sand Dunes

Stop At: Khongoryn Els, Gobi Desert, Dalanzadgad 212503 Mongolia
After leisurely having your breakfast at the camp you will drive to Khongor Sand Dunes. The sand dunes stretch for 180 kilometres across the desert and the tallest dune, Singing sand dune, offers a panoramic view of the scenery. Check into a ger camp before heading to the Singing Sand Dune. Climbing up to Singing Sand Dune might be challenging, but the one who made the top deserves great view of the surrounding.

Day 4: The Flaming Cliffs

Stop At: Gobi Desert, Mongolia
Your journey will continue to the Flaming Cliffs which is known as the home to first-ever found dinosaur eggs in paleontological history. The nickname refers to the color of the sandstone cliffs, especially during sunset. It’s expected to reach at a ger camp near the cliffs upon lunch. You will have some time to explore this unusual landform in the evening.

Day 5: Ongi Monastery

Stop At: Ongi Monastery, Saikhan-Ovoo Mongolia
Start driving to the north with a stopover at the remains of historic Ongi Monastery, one of 750 worshipping places of Mongolia that were destroyed by communists in the 1930s. Days of driving may be rather discomforting. Therefore, you can take our complimentary full body massage at the Ongi ger camp in the evening. Overnight in a ger camp.

Day 6: Ulaan Tsutgalan Waterfall

Stop At: Orkhon Waterfall, Orkhon River Valley, Bat Ulzii Mongolia
Your journey will continue to central Mongolia. Today, you will witness the transformation of the Gobi desert terrain into hilly landscape and green mountains. Have your lunch in a roadside restaurant on the way. Spend the evening admiring the beauty of Orkhon waterfall.

Day 7: Erdene Zuu Monastery

Stop At: Erdene Zuu Monastery, Kharkhorin 62090 Mongolia
Your journey will continue to Kharkhorin town. Explore Erdene Zuu Monastery museum where you will witness some of the finest Buddhist artifacts which were created between the 16th and 20th century. The monastery was established in 1586 and has been an influential Buddhist site in Mongolia. Also, there is Kharkorum museum which displays artifacts from Great Mongol Empire era as the capital city of Mongol Empire was once located on the present location of Kharkhorin town.

Day 8: Hustai National Park

Stop At: Hustai National Park, Ulaanbaatar 13 Mongolia
Wild life exploration in Hustai National Park will be one of the highlights of the journey where you will encounter the Wild Horse ‘Takhi’, the only species of wild horse in the world. Takhi have being reintroduced since the 1990’s and this is the only place you can see this beautiful animal in the wild. Enjoy your horse ride in the national park. When you arrive in the national park, you will check in your ger camp and will make Mongolian traditional ger as your home. After a short rest you will have your lunch. There is a small museum in the ger camp where you can hear wild horse related information and about the Takhi reintroduction programme in the national park.

Day 9: Ulaanbaatar

Stop At: Ulaanbaatar Department Store, Peace Avenue-57 Sukhbaatar district, Ulaanbaatar 14250 Mongolia
You will arrive in Ulaanbaatar by midday. You will be able to look for souvenirs and gifts for your beloved ones.
