4 x 4 Desert Safari to Erg Chigaga Great Dunes - Full Day

Set off early morning in 4 x 4, on a 60km journey across the Moroccan Sahara to the great dunes of Erg Chigaga.

The route is entirely off-road, as we leave M’Hamid, the door to the desert, to cross open vistas of dunes, hamada, stone desert. We stop at Oued Naam, the Ostrich river, Thirst Valley, the large desert fossil ground, with stunning panoramic vistas. Drop in on local nomads, then onto The Sacred Oasis, important meeting point for nomads, with all year round water.

Stop for lunch at Oasis H Meht Sellah, by the mountain and river, passing flocks of camels, wild donkeys, tamarisk trees and other desert wild-life to arrive mid-afternoon at Erg Chigaga. The afternoon is spent at leisure, relaxing and exploring the dunes.

After sunset at the big dunes, we make our return journey to M’Hamid.

The journey is a full day in 4x4 across the Moroccan Sahara desert with multiple stops for site-seeing, photos, comfort breaks, lunch and refreshments. The 4x4 will depart from the meeting point Sahara Dreams,The Palm Grove, M'Hamid El Ghizlane and return to the same point at the end of the tour.
