A very interesting stop. There is a bit of a history of the fossils found in this area and a crude but informative short narration and fossil display. The showroom has large displays of marble coffee tables, fountains, sinks and anything else you wish to have manufactured out of this rock. The work is quite beautiful as each piece contains fossilized sea life from millions of years ago. Hard to believe that this area was once part of a huge body of water. You could still pick out small souvenirs that contain fossilized sea life without having to spend a fortune.

Bab Aganou is perhaps the most unique of Marrakech’s nineteen gates and it’s original function, as a royal entrance, is perhaps the reason for this. The corner-pieces are decorated with floral decorations extending around a shell is simply exquisite and this ornamentation is framed by three panels and on these panels is an inscription from the Quran.
