7-Day Sahara Desert Tour from Casablanca

Day 1: Casablanca - Meknes - Volubilis - Made

We start our tour exploring the best cultural sites of Casablanca and Morocco desert trips. The tour includes a visit to the Hassan II Mosque. After lunch, we will head towards Meknes, former imperial city. Visit to the Roman ruins of Volubilis. Then we will continue our trip towards Fez where we will spend a night in Riad / Hotel with dinner and breakfast included.

Day 2: Fez (guided tour)

Today we will have a guided tour in Fez and we will discover Fez walking through the medina. Fez is the oldest imperial city in Morocco and was founded by Idriss II. Fez is also the center of tradition of Arab-Muslim culture. You can explore the Andalusian mosque, the famous tanneries, the Medersas and also the new part of the city. Dinner and accommodation at Riad / Hotel with breakfast included.

Day 3: Fez - Ifrane - Midelt - Ziz Valley - Rissani - Merzouga (Desert)

After breakfast, we will continue our trip towards Ifrane, also called the “Switzerland of Morocco”. Pass through the Ziz Valley until you reach the town of Erfoud, very famous for its local fossil products. We will continue our trip to Rissani to explore its souk. We finish the trip in Merzouga, where we will stay in a desert hotel with dinner and breakfast included.

Day 4: Merzouga (Desert) - Khamlia - Merzouga (Desert)

After breakfast, we will explore the Merzouga desert area by visiting the village of Khamlia, famous for its musicians. Stop for lunch with the nomads living in the desert and then dromedary ride through the dunes towards the camp. Once arrived at the camp, opportunity to climb the dunes and watch a magnificent sunset and enjoy Morocco desert excursions. Opportunity to sit by a fire and enjoy a traditional Berber dinner. Accommodation in tents in the desert.

Day 5: Merzouga (Desert) - Rissani - Todra Valley - Dades Valley

The guide will wake you up early to watch the sunrise in the Merzouga desert. After that we will ride the dromedaries back to the village and the hotel. After a shower and breakfast, we will continue to Rissani, Tinghir, until we reach the Todra Gorge, Morocco's tallest and narrow gorge. Here we can walk into the valley. After lunch, we will continue our trip to the Dades Valley, where we will have the opportunity to enjoy the sandcastles and rock formations called “monkey fingers”. Accommodation in Dades Valley with dinner and breakfast included.

Day 6: Dades Valley - Kalaat M'Gouna - Ouarzazatte - Ait Benhaddou - Marrakech

Today the circuit of the Sahara desert continues. After breakfast, we follow the journey towards Ouarzazate, making our way to the thousand Kasbahs. Stop at Kalaat M'Gouna, the center of the Valley of Roses to visit a local cooperative of roses. Then we will continue our journey through Ait Benhaddou, Kasbah which was built by Et Hami El Glaoui in the 19th century. We will also cross the High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi n'Tichka (2260m high mountain pass) until we reach Marrakech.

Day 7: Marrakech (guided tour) - Casablanca

Today we will have a guided tour of Marrakech where we will explore the city's main attractions and monuments, including the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa square, Koutoubia Mosque, the souks, the palaces and museums. We will also explore the new part of the city called Gueliz and the gardens of Menara and Majorelle. Then we will continue our trip to Casablanca where our Sahara Desert Camel services end.
