The Caves of Hercules are located about 5 km from Cape Espartel and 14 km west of the city of Tangier (Morocco). It is one of the most popular tourist attractions around this city.

The cave has two openings, one towards the earth and another towards the sea, known as "The Map of Africa".

Cape Spartel is a cape located on the Atlantic coast of Africa, in northern Morocco, a few kilometers from Tangier. In the rock that is located there (at 110 meters above sea level), there is a lighthouse whose light is visible at 23 nautical miles. To the south, the terrain descends rapidly, giving rise to a plain (this causes that, seen from certain points, the rock looks like an island). Formerly, this corporal was known by the name of Cape Ampelusia. This point is one of the land boundaries of the Strait of Gibraltar. Cabo Espartel is accessible by road.
