Full day excursion to Jbel Lakraa (highest in Talassemtane Park)

Jbel Lakraa is the highest mountain in Talassemtane national park (2159m). In this full day excursion we will take you to discover it amazing landscape and unique biodiversity.

A 4WD vehicule will take you to Plaza España durring almost 2h drive from Chefchaouen passing by villages of the region. Once you are there our hike will begin to the highest point of the region (Jbel Lakraa). A quick picnic and many pictures to remember this moment forever. nearby cities, the mediterraneen sea or even Spain coudl be seen from here in clear days. Continuation, by hiking down to Mechkralla village where we will eat a delecious moroccan lunch, and where we will find the 4WD waiting for us to take us back to Chefchaouen. But not before taking a morocca tea with medicinal herbs.

Stop At: Talassemtane National Park, Chefchaouen Morocco

This park was created in October 2004 to conserve the last of Morocco’s threatened fir forests

The park also contains other endemic plant species to the Spanish/Maghrebi biodiversity hotspot such as the endangered Atlas cedar and Andalusian Belladonna Atropa baetica.The Bearded vulture and over 100 other birds have been observed at the park

Talassemtane is part of the Transcontinental Biosphere Reserve of the Mediterranean.
