The village of Imlil (1,740 m) is in the center of the High Atlas, almost in the shadow of Mount Toubkal (4,167 m), the highest point in northern Africa. The village has become the most popular starting point for mountain climbs and for a wide range of less demanding hikes and treks.

Stop At: Imlil Day Trips, Marrakech Morocco

a hike east to Tizi n'Tamatert (2272m) and across fields of wheat and orchards of walnut trees, apple and cherry trees to the village of Tamatert (1810m). Once through the village, take a path that climbs through pine woods and juniper trees; Stop at the Tizi to admire the valleys of Imlil and Imenane, the latter with its many Berber villages in terraces precariously hidden on the slopes around you. All along with Adrar n'Oukaimeden (3268 m), almost as high as the Rockies, on the southern horizon, with the high peaks of Tizi n'Eddi (2928 m) and Jbel Angour (3616 m) also profiling .

Continue hiking along the slopes of the Tamatert Valley until you reach your picnic spot on the ground in Amghedoul, now surrounded by the Toubkal Massif. Once refreshed, return to the Douar Samra, in the direction of the oldest Berber village of this once isolated region, Tacheddirt, then through Ouaneskra and the other side of the valley, through the villages of Tamegguist and Tinghourine, with the upsetting Jbel Bou. Iguenouane (3882m), Tizi n'Likemt (3615m), Aksoual (3842m) and Azrou n'Tamadot (3664m) until a warm return to your accommodation in Marrakech
