Morocco Tour itinerary 3 Day tour from Marrakech to Chigaga Desert

Our Guide Driss made this tour unique, he was born in the desert of M'hamid and knows the desert like no other, since he was born with sand in his eyes. He has more than 25 years of experience as a tourist guide. He brings his guests safely through the Moroccan Sahara with his team and comfortable off-road vehicles. Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech - High Atlas - Ait Benhaddou - Ouarzazate - Zagora

Stop At: Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou, Douar Ait Ben Haddou, Ait Ben Haddou 45000 Morocco
The departure begin from Marrakech to explore best of Sahara desert with local guides and drivers. In the early morning we start from our hotel or riad in the direction of the High Atlas by our comfortable SUV.

We travel over the pass of Tizi N'Tichka (2260 m) with a breathtaking view to reach the Ounila valley with the Kasbah of Telouet. Then we explore the village of Ait Ben Haddou, and its the most famous Kasbah and UNESCO World Heritage Site. After lunch break we will have enough time to walk through the old streets and to enjoy the many impressions. Films such as "Lawrence of Arabia", "Gladiator" or "Jesus of Nazareth" were filmed here.

Then our 3 Day tour from Marrakech to Chigaga Desert continues into the fertile Valley of Draa. We drive from Agdz to Zagora through the most beautiful part of the oasis with millions of date palms. Dinner and overnight in Zagora in a nice hotel near the river Draa.

Day 2: Zagora - Mhamid - Dunes of Chigaga

Stop At: mhamid desert camp, Morocco
After breakfast our 3 Day tour from Marrakech to Chigaga Desert continues and we head south over Tamegroute with its traditional pottery to M'hamid. There the aphaltierte road ends and continues over slopes in the Sahara. First you reach the "Holy Oasis" "oasis sacré". Under the palm trees in the shade : we enjoy our lunch break. Then we continue to the large dunes of Erg Chigaga, which stretch for about 40 km and a height of 300 m. We reach desert camp : Bivouac at the foot of the dunes. Now you can enjoy the desert with its vastness and silence. From the top of a dune you can let the sunset take in and absorb the special light of the Sahara.

We will have a traditional dinner and music by the nomads around the campfire. Enjoy the beautiful starry sky of the Sahara.

Day 3: Dunes of Chigaga - Agdz - Ouarazazate - End tour in Marrakech city.

Stop At: Atmospher Erg Chigaga, M'Hamid El Ghizlane, M'Hamid Morocco
After a Berber breakfast we continue our 3 Day tour from Marrakech to Chigaga Desert and will drive on the old Paris-Dakkar piste to Lac Iriki, a dried up salt lake. You leave the desert at Foum Zguid , we visit Tazenakht a small Berber city, known for their carpet work, it goes on to Ouarzazate. We will return to your hotel or riad during the late afternoon.
