Get a glimpse into the Saharan way of life as you experience the desert tempo and magnificent landscapes of the desert of M'Hamid. 4 x 4 across the Moroccan Sahara. Journey to Erg Chigaga, the largest and most beautiful dunes in Morocco. Visit local nomads, ride camels, and stop at desert oasis, passing camel flocks and wild donkeys. Sleep under the stars and enjoy the desert sunrise and sunset.

Spend time in a beautiful eco-lodge, in the Palm Grove of M’Hamid, where you will visit ancient Jewish Kasbahs, explore the rugged desert town, and ride donkey and cart through the Palm Grove. Visit the local Sahara museum and learn the secrets of Henne from local women. Evenings are spent eating and playing music around the campfire, Sahara style.

Depart your Riad/Hotel in Marrakech, where our driver will guide you on a memorable journey through the Atlas Mountains, the valley of Kasbahs, and date palm groves of Zagora to the desert of M'Hamid and return you there after your adventure.

Itinerary

Day 1 Marrakech to M’Hamid

Depart Marrakech through the beautiful Atlas Mountains, Kasbahs and date palm groves to M'Hamid.

Day 2 Into the desert in 4 x 4

Take a 60km journey across the Moroccan Sahara to the great dunes of Erg Chigaga. Cross dramatic landscapes and open vistas. Drop in on nomads, visit a desert Oasis, lunch by the mountain river. Arrive at your desert bivouac to explore the dunes, watch the sunset, sing and eat under the stars.

Day 3 Full Day Camel Trek in the Dunes

Live like a nomad, camel trekking across golden dunes and beautiful landscapes. Lunch under the Tamaris trees. Late afternoon return by 4 x 4 to the Palm Grove. Relax before dinner.

Day 4 M’Hamid & The Kasbahs

After breakfast, take a donkey and cart to Old M’Hamid. Explore the ancient Jewish Kasbah. Sip tea under the Palm Trees. Visit the local Sahara Museum and explore the desert town. Shop in the local bazaar or enjoy a traditional Hamman or Henne ritual. Return for a farewell dinner.

Day 5 Depart M’Hamid

After breakfast, make your return to Marrakech with stops for photos, shopping and refreshments.
