Steep coastal walk and waterfall

The hike goes halfway up the cliff, back through the hinterland. Picnic is available in a secluded bay. We have great views over the Atlantic horizon. We walk on narrow paths through a heathland where goats and herds of sheep to feed depending on the season. The route gives great panoramic views over the Atlantic. We are high above the sea, with always new views of beautiful bays. Here, some fishermen have their houses built directly on the rocks and go to the daily fishing. On the way back we pass the small waterfall of Sid Mbark, lined by a large sand dune on one side and a rock formation on the other side.

The small river brings water into the otherwise very dry region and it creates a play of colors of green, the gold of the desert sand and the blue of the Atlantic.

Running time approx. 3-4 hours, individually adaptable. It goes through untouched nature, away from civilization.

Itinerary

We start the hike 15km south of Sidi Kaouki, in Sidi Mbark. Go on a round trip on the steep coast along a plateau, past the waterfall.
