A lost valley in the center of the Central High Atlas. This valley has drawn from a geological disaster a great wealth. A collapse downstream of the valley obstructed the flow of the river. The alluvial deposits deposited over millennia have filled the lake thus created. The small river now winds and irrigates a vast plateau covered with all kinds of culture. The Berbers of the valley built many villages on the edge of this vast treasure. It is the "happy valley" sung by the troubadours of the High Atlas. Highlights: • A varied discovery of Ait bouguemez, with easy hikes • 2 nights in comfortable cottage, particularly well located and welcoming • The discovery of waterfalls Ouzoud.

Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech - Ait Bouguemez - Agouti (1780 m)

Stop At: Ait Bouguemez, Sentier, Morocco
Transfer in the central Atlas. Road to Damenat, visit the natural bridge of Imi N'Ifri (is a natural arch of a height of 30 meters), then take the vehicle to the valley Des Ait Bouali (Red Village), until the beautiful village of Agouti, in the heart of the valley; lodging in lodging for three nights. Lunch at the cottage. Climb to the small summit of Sidi Chita which offers a beautiful view of the valley. Cottage Agouti, run by my family, very comfortable. I propose a traditional beldi hammam (hammam session offered to celebrate your arrival). 3 hours of walking. M = D = 150 m.

Day 2: Discovery of the valley

Stop At: Ait Bouguemez, Sentier, Morocco
Loop discovery: climb on one side of the valley, descent on the other side. We take the discovery trail n'Aguerd Ouzou: at the edge of the assif Bouguemez spread irrigated crops; the path zigzags between fields and groves of walnut trees. We observe threshing areas, an exceptional architecture (tighermt), traces of dinosaurs ... Discovery collective loft Sidi Moussa. Inside the attic are lodges in which each family once enclosed its reserves, especially grain, which allowed survival in case of poor harvest. Its strategic location also made it possible to protect village resources in the event of conflict. The granary is also a marabout that houses the tomb of Sidi Moussa. Some villagers still come to visit to see their wishes answered. Walk to the old village of Tabant, where is the training center for trades of the mountain. The market where transactions take place and where decisions are made is an extremely important meeting place for villagers. Night at the cottage. 6 hours walk M = D = 280 m.

Day 3: Agouti - Marrakech

Stop At: Medina of Marrakesh, Derb Fhal Zefriti n06 Derb Fhal Zefriti, Marrakech 40000 Morocco
Quiet return to Marrakech passing by the cascades of Ouzoud; tasting a Berber tagine in a small restaurant to the waterfalls. And, why not, a swim in one of the basins at the foot of the waterfalls. Arrival in the afternoon. 2 to 3 hours walk M = D = 150 m.
